We accept artwork supplied in JPG or PDF format. If you are working in Microsoft Word or Publisher you can “Save as” a PDF in your file menu. From Coral Draw you can “Publish to PDF”. From Adobe Creative Suite you will “Export to PDF”.
We recommend all artwork is High Resolution, 300dpi. If you are working in Photoshop you will have to set the DPI when you create a new document.
It is important that you prepare your PDF in the correct way. These options should be set:
- Resolution – Choose High Resolution or Press Ready
- Compression Settings – For colour and greyscale this should be down sampled to 300dpi with “auto compression” set on high
- Font Embedding – Should be set to “embed all fonts”
Convert your files to PDF
Below is a link to a website that can convert any files into a useable PDF, it is easy-to-use and will do it for you right there online. IT’S FREE!
Colour: Please set colour to CMYK. RGB artwork will be converted to CMYK and this could affect your colours.
Please supply only one version of your work (to avoid mix ups!)
Supply documents in single pages only. Please do not set up “Printers Pairs”.
Bleed: All artwork must have a 2mm extra allowance on each side. For example if you are producing an A4 (210x297mm) document, your artwork must be 301x214mm. This extra space is known as bleed and allows for the minimal shifts which can sometimes occur when paper goes through the cutting machine.
For this reason we would also recommend that you do not place text closer than 4mm from the edge of the paper.
If you are creating a folded leaflet we can provide you with a template showing where the folds will be.
We are happy to advise you and answer any questions you have regarding creating artwork. However, please remember once you have supplied artwork, we will not be able to make changes to the file on your behalf. What you provide is exactly what we will print!
Sending us Artwork
Most artwork should be possible to email. However if your files are too big to email, you can bring them in on a flash drive or CD. If you are not able to drop in you can also transfer them to us via the internet – please ask for more information.
